Esra PEHLIVANLI and Marko KASSL established one of the first Viola & Accordion duo in 2004. The unique sound of the combination viola and accordion is amazingly versatile and carries along surprising aural possibilities. At date, there have been over 40 compositions dedicated to them. Duo MARES ’s exceptional performances includes music from early, classic, tango, contemporary music and interdisciplinary performances. 

A virtuoso ensemble with unique instrumentation and concert programmes. Black Pencil was founded in 2010, and premiered in the same year at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. More than 400

compositions dedicated to Black Pencil. Ensemble's repertory includes music from Renaissance up to today, including chamber operas and Virtual Reality performances.

​The Viola & Piano duo by Esra PEHLIVANLI and Anastasia SAFONOVA was founded in 2002. Since then the duo has been giving numerous performances mainly in Europe as well as in China and Turkey. The recent collaboration with the Dutch clarinetist Lars Wouters adds beautiful concert programs to the repertory of the duo as a Viola, Clarinet and Piano trio.
